COVID-19 & Christ
As we continue to walk through an uncertain, ever-changing time, we face the tension between the current crisis and Jesus Christ. We must maintain that balance between being paralyzed with fear and being careless with indifference. As Pastor Chris reads the accounts found in Matthew 8 and 9, he brings to our attention three points to carry us through to the other side of this and other moments of uncertainty.

    Whatever Became of Sin?
There is such a thing as sin; but there is also forgiveness. The bad news is that there is none righteous, we have all sinned. But, the good news is that there is a Savior--Jesus! As Pastor Chris ministers from Luke 7:31 - 50,  we see the proper response to the forgiveness of our Savior in the woman worshiping at His feet. And we see in the cynical onlookers the response of hearts calloused to their fallen nature.

    When the Elements Melt
The manner in which we view our past largely determines our present. And how we look forward to the future greatly impacts how we live today. As Pastor Chris discusses in this reassuring message from 2 Peter 3, our present has meaning because our past is under the blood of Jesus and our future is secure in Him. Pastor Chris reminds us that our ultimate goal is not the here and now; it is the new heavens and the new earth wherein dwells righteousness.

    Faith > fear
Living for and serving God does not exempt us from life's storms. But, God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. Pastor Chris encourages us with three points taken from Paul's encouragement given during his perilous travel to Rome, found in Acts 27:1 - 26. As we face our current perilous times, we can remain in faith knowing that just as God was with Paul in the midst of the storm, so He is with us.

    Righteous Among Unrighteous
Looking at the description of Lot found in 2 Peter 2:1 - 9, Pastor Chris examines what it is to live righteously in an unrighteous world. There is a real battle we are facing right now. But, if the righteous withdraw from the world, who will win them to Christ? Pastor Chris encourages us that although we will be vexed at times, the same God that delivered Lot out of Sodom knows how to deliver us at exactly the right time.

    The Lord’s Lot
As Pastor Chris takes us through Judges 1 and 2, he reminds us that although we are positionally saved, we practically have to work it out, just as the Israelites had to possess the Promised Land. From these passages, he points out three truths that we need to value and apply to our lives to be effective ministers of the Gospel.

Readying for Revival – Part 3
In his continuation of discussing differing reactions during revival, Pastor Chris reminds us that we should not minimize one's reaction to the glory of God. But, we also cannot make those manifestations the litmus test for determining whether or not God has moved. In this message, Pastor Chris discusses the manifestation of the travail, as referenced in Romans 8:26 - 27.

Readying for Revival – Part 2
In his continuation of "Readying for Revival", Pastor Chris highlights documented accounts of people's response to God's glory. He also looks as Daniel's encounter in Daniel 10:1 - 8 and reminds us that when we, as natural people, encounter the supernatural God, there is only so much we can take before there is an outward response to His glory. Ultimately, our goal is not the manifestations, but rather, an encounter with God (Daniel 10:6).

Readying for Revival – Part 1
Do you know that you can prepare and plan for a revival? In this message, Pastor Chris expounds on the idea that "revival is not a fluke", taken from Charles Finney's book "Lectures on Revivals of Religion". It always comes in direct response to the prayers of the saints. Pastor Chris also begins to walk through some manifestations that might occur when God begins to move.

An Explanation of the End Times
No one is one hundred percent sure of the days to come, but we need to make sure that we are focused on the right things. A good way to know if our focus is right is to know what Jesus said about it. As Pastor Chris points out from Acts 1:1 - 11, Jesus emphasized to His disciples the importance of the indwelling Spirit of God. We need to be full of power which will lead to effective evangelism. As we see in the parable in Matthew 25,  we cannot run on empty in these last days.

    Missing the Move of God
In the history of Christendom, most of the great moves of God have been missed by most believers because they did not expect it, they did not prepare for it, or they did not recognize it as God. Pastor Chris takes the account found in Acts 8:4 - 25 and shows that the people who most resist God's moves are the ones who try to control those moves. He also reminds us that we cannot put the new moves of God in the context of His past moves.

    Living Sacrifices
In this message, Pastor Chris teaches from Romans 12:1 - 3 and points out that the larger issue for believers today is not if we will die for Christ, but whether we can live for Him. The day to day living out of our faith prepares us for what will happen when push comes to shove.

    The Move of God
There is a move of God coming that is greater than the Church has ever seen and will have a great harvest for the Kingdom. In this message, Pastor Chris makes three points regarding the move of God, based on Ezekiel 47:1 - 12. He encourages us with the reminder that Jesus is coming to rule and reign; and, in preparation for that, God is going to send rivers locally. We also here a powerful testimony from Bob Wendall at the beginning.

Staying Clean in a Filthy World
Pastor Chris encourages us from James 1:12 - 27 on how to endure temptations and trials in this life. We are reminded that there is no sin in temptation and that no temptation lasts forever. He also points out that the key to staying clean in the midst of the world is found in Galatians 5:16.

    Pathway to a Birthright Blessing
♫ "A double pleasure is waiting for you..." ♫ Although Elisha did not have the gum commercial to influence his request of a double portion, that was his desire as his mentor Elijah was taken from him. In this message, Pastor Chris explains that, as heirs with Christ, we also can claim the "double portion", the birthright blessing. He walks through 2 Kings 2:1 - 14 and shows the pathway to that blessing.

The God of Fire and the Fire of God
In today's message, Pastor Chris walks us through Elijah's confrontation on Mt. Carmel in 1 Kings 18:16 - 46. Pastor Chris reminds us that we need the fire of God in our lives to catch the attention of the people to whom we minister and influence. And for real change, to make an lasting difference, we need the real power of God--His fire. We cannot rely on flashy substitutes or manipulations.

    Frustrations in Fasting
Do you ever wonder why Jesus went into the wilderness following His baptism? As Pastor Chris highlights from Matthew 4:1 - 11, Jesus went because He was led by the Spirit. He knew the temptation was coming, so He fasted and prayed so that He might withstand it. He was in a place of utter exposure in the wilderness and, after forty days and nights of fasting, He was at His weakest point physically. Yet, He conquered the tempter! As we move forward in our prayer and fasting and encounter challenges, we can be encouraged by this fact--Jesus conquered so that we can conquer.

As people of God, we have a different vision than those in the world. In today's message, Pastor Chris references 2 Chronicles 20:1 - 26 and exhorts us to have "20/20 vision" (2 Chronicles 20:20). We need to ask ourselves, "Where does our faith lie?"

    Prayer & Fasting
In this "nuts and bolts" message, Pastor Chris discusses some basic ideas regarding the discipline of prayer and fasting, referencing Matthew 6:1 - 18. As we head into a new year, we want to be in sync with God and His plans. By praying and fasting, we are volunteering for whatever God wants to do in our lives and in our hearts.
