Modernity looks down it’s nose at ancient people whose idols were made of stone, wood and precious metals. But we have an idolatry today that is far more wicked than even that which is recorded in the Old Testament. It is preaching a salvation without the cross of Christ. As Pastor Chris preaches from 1 Corinthians 1:18 – 2:5, he admonishes us to take seriously the call to “take up our cross and follow Jesus.” There must be a confrontation of our sin and true repentance.
